About this event
Community Art Gallery - "Innocence" by Sylvia Miranda
September 22nd - November 21st, 2026
Sylvia Miranda was born in El Salvador, where her love for art began at the age of ten, sketching pencil portraits of the people around her. Drawing quickly became more than just a pastime; it was a way to connect, to observe, and to tell stories without words. When she moved to the United States, her artistic journey took a new direction. In 2011, Sylvia began painting classes with Mary Pera, an experience that opened a whole new world for her. Within a year, she had created a home studio, eager to explore painting independently and let her creativity grow freely. Art has given her not only a voice, but also a community.
Her work explores innocence through quiet, joyful moments in the lives of children and animals. Sylvia is drawn to expressive eyes, unguarded gestures, playful energy, and the small details that reveal personality. Working in oil allows her to build softness, light, and depth while preserving the warmth of each subject. Every painting begins with observation and an emotional connection. Through this collection, she hopes viewers recognize something familiar: tenderness, trust, wonder, and the simple joy found in everyday life.
